LinkedIn is a Career Resource Bank

Good morning all!

I wanted to share some words of encouragement amongst you all with regards to the usage of LinkedIn.

One thing I’m finding is that many people are reluctant to use LinkedIn because they feel too shy or are embarrassed to post. A lot of the conversation around LinkedIn has been to do with visibility and personal branding which is one use case of it but it can also be used as a resource bank for finding out information.

What does this mean?

LinkedIn is an INCREDIBLE resource for finding out career related information such as:

-> Studying peoples career profiles. How did someone pivot from one role to another
-> Find out about what's going on in your industry in my case I like to follow GCHQ UK Cyber Security Council dddNational Cyber Security Centre to keep up to date with what's going on in cyber
-> Job opportunities
-> Learning on the platform through LinkedIn Learning

So if you were reluctant about using LinkedIn I hope seeing it as a career resource bank will help you see the alternative use of it and encourage you to leverage the platform in the best way possible
